Hey there! My brother was out in his Wizard and reversed into a huge rock. At a rather high speed! We noticed it seems to now be jacked on the drivers side rear. Pulled out the measuring tape and found it to be more than a full inch difference!
I am not sure on how to tell if something has been or knoked out of alingment or if he has actually bent the frame! I would really like to have just bent a rod or somthing!
How do I best tell what has happened?
Cheers in advance!
oh and if I have to take it somewhere, I live in CHCH, who would be best to take it to?

what year wizard? If its the earlier one with leaf springs you might of bent the spring. If its the coil model all the mounts are in front of the axle so unless he go over the rock or took a direct hit on the axle its unlikely to be suspension damage. If the drag links are bent enough to make that difference they should be obvious. The chassis are very strong I wont ask how he came to be going that fast backwards

Its a 97 with the coils. There is a difference in height between the bump stops on both sides in the rear. I couldnt see any cracks or lines in the paint. I might have to give it a bloody good clean underneath! Any hints on finding the bend or what ever is causing this?
Going that fast backwards? Well lets just say thinkings you have an invincible vehicle is not a good idea!

This is a rough and ready test for a bent chassis but it can be very telling. Find 4 points on the chassis that are the same distance from the end of each rail and mark them with chalk etc. Get a plumb bob and mark these points on the garage floor. Measure the diagonals. If they are the same the chassis is unlikely to be bent. If they are different expect a big panel beaters bill.
