I enquired about a blow off valve for my turbo via a friend in the know, figured since boy racers have them why shouldnt I and figured it would be a laugh.... seems the turbo is to small a turbo to warrent it... and got laughed at.... I just wanted to drive round going PSSSST like all the 16-30yr olds turbo freaks in town.... Moral of the story... BIGGER TURBO! then noone will laugh ! (Yeah Right)

diesels dont work that way. The boy racer cars do this because when the throttle closes the turbo keeps pushing air until it stalls so a blow off valve allows the air to escape reducing turbo lag and scaring all the local cats. On a diesel there is no throttle as such so all the air still goes into the cylinder as normal with the wastegate controlling pressure. This is why diesels dont suffer the same turbo lag as petrol engines. The question also is that how many of your friends with blow off valves are running up to 15psi without other expensive engine mods. Fit a boost guage That will scare them. Believe it or not you already have a blow off valve fitted in the inlet manifold It opens about 16psi and vents back into the intake

yeah..i noticed that, i think the the prev owner had disconnected the pipes off it... replaced them yesterday arvo...
My mates got a nissan terrano (now in spray paint black if you see it in newlands) hes puttin in a BO valve even tho i told him i got laughed at... but he thinks hes the man..
From what i read the Isuzu have a load of power so i wont worry so much bout that.. so i have decided to get the stuff i need to done, then just go for a sus and body lift, i reckon thats a smart investement.

A diesel mechanic i know tried to fit a blow off valve to a guys mu, the guy also thought he was the "man", they spent probably half a day trying all sorts of different set ups but they could not get it to work!!!

if you want to intimidate boy racers put bull bars right round your mu and get real close to them on the road, there not going to mess with you at the end of a passing lane lol

If you take the exhaust off from the middle join the turbo makes a spool down sound which sounds cool, I'm not sure if a straight through pipe would make the same sound but maybe.

That would probably struggle to pass our new exhaust noise rules even though there is still a lot of other vehicles on the road that would be louder

dont the 2003 up rodeos have some sort of throttle body or butterfly on the inlet manifold so they might work on the new ones

That's more for emissions than anything. I think its actually a sensor for airflow
