My LSD has packed up. I've noticed over the last few months I've started spinning one wheel in situations where it shouldn't.
Is the LSD rebuildable?

You can have the lsd tightened at some 4wd or diff shops.

Try changing the oil first. A tiny amount of water will stop the clutches biting. Otherwise try mudgrips favorite diff oil Redline shockproof. You could also look on trademe as James Whyte has got hold of some cheap air lockers for the rear of isuzus.

as geeves says, oil change is easiest thing to try first..... or if u want a locker contact me direct for a better price than on TradeMe. I am also tooling up to do my own diffs if you really get caught out and need help. I have a lsd service doc someone shared with me a while back.... I'm tooling up after a bad experience with a local diff shop... $1,050 and it whines... $#!%$. stupid me trusting someone... contact me privately if u want to know who in chch... I would love to flame him... but.

I found a brand new 4.56 LSD diff head at Slater Holden in Rotorua. Evidently they bought about $700k of spares off Isuzu when they sold up in NZ. Cost less than 10% of the retail list price $9,838

Proves bargins can still be had. Ive just come back from up your way. Was staying at Awakeri Springs but had the Toyota. Should of planned better instead of having to come home 2 days before the National 4wd champs virtually next door
