Fuel Set up

Hello
Does anyone have the knowledge on the fuel filter set up on the MU. In particular, I am interested in the set up off to the side of the filter. What do the red/ blue and black topped cylinders do?

What kind of mu do you have? and are these cylinders attached to the fuel filter set up or are they the controls for the egr valves and stuff which are usually mounted right behind the fuel filter. Do they have heaps of little black hoses about 6-8mm diameter coming off them?
