Hi all you have probably already guessed I am new to Isuzu and 4wd in general. I have not been able to find the timing light on the dash and was wandering if it only come on when there is a problem or should it come on when you are about to start the engine and then go out. Where do they hide it anyway? I have a 92 Diesel.

Is only supposed to come on when it is due for replacement, although mine never came on at 160000km.

It will be a bright light and should come on every 100000km There is a switch on the back of the dash to reset it

it will show up when the ignition is turned on then go out it not ready for change, so if it isn't there at all I'd be checking the bulb...

I have yet to see it at all so a check of the light is in order. Any clues on getting to the light. New24wd

Yeah you pretty much need to remove the dash, I think it's the easiest way.

how do you remove the dash on a 1994 mu 3.1 just by undoing the two screws on the bottom of the dash and pulling off

I would say the bulb has been removed because someone didnt know how to turn it off. The question then remains has the belt actually been done. If you know for sure the belts been done and when its next due why worry. My light was removed. All it works on is mileage. Its not high tech like BMWs etc

I can't remember how the dash comes out it has been a lot of years, but I don't think it is that hard, the hardest part is getting the speedo cable off, you have to get your hands in there to unclip it.
