I've been chasing a lift kit for my MU for some time now, most 4WD "specialist" like ARB and OL told me 30mm is the max they could get me whick would cost $806 not including shocks. I have OME long travel shocks anyway. Is there any other way to go other than the calimi (spelling?) that wont cost me a kidney? $1000 budget.
Also does anyone know who makes a body lift kit for the MU? I could always go to 33" tyre to get that extra clearance.
cheers

Hunt down a Lovels spring agent in your area. When I did mine in NZ the Lovels springs were the cheapest and they are made in Aus. You only need to adjust the front torrsion bars unless you have a very heavy bull bar/whinch. Rear is springs and bushes and maybe greasable pins. You might have to do a ball joint flip to get the wheel alignment right

I did mine with Lovells Springs and extension shackles. A new set of rear springs will cost around $350 from either Lovells or Pedders. You'll have the option of Rodeo standard or HD springs, Standard give you greater articulation offroad and HD handle better on road so it depends what your usage is. You will need to replace the bushes, go for rubber over urethane as the latter creak like a bastard. 2.5 "Extension Shackles are around the $80-120 mark. I got calmini ones from 4wdUSA in Perth about $120 with shipping to Sydney. That should sort the rear end try the shackles first as it maybe all you need according to how stuffed your rear springs are. The for the front you can crank up the T/Bars but to maintain the equivalent height gain as the rear you will probably need to do a ball joint flip and then get a good alignment shop to sort it out for you. Otherwise it will be on the limit or its alignment adjustment . That will allow 32"'s without rubbing. For 33"s you will need a body lift or some adaptation with a Makita Gaurd shaper. But you should be able to get the sus lift for around $6-800 depending on how much you can do yourself. PS. This will decrease the lifespan of your front CV's especially if you throw a front locking diff into the mix. J

My strong suggestion is not to replace the springs. I have done it on mine and having done so would not do it again. Just use extension shackles to get the lift. Cost = $200 - $300 for quality HD 4" longer shackles. You can wind up the front end about 50mm without too many problems. As previously said a ball joint 'flip' which is a strange name for something that does not involve flipping anything will help your alignment problems. Further to this a 2" body lift is easy as pie to do and will only cost about $200 With these mods you will be able to fit 33's without too many dramas. Mine has small rubbing on the front mud gaurds... Well it did until I ripped them off. It will look like this and Jimmy

They used my MU as the test case to make up the kit.
I am not so sure they are the same as Superior Engineering though as Superior are at Warner and 4wd super store are at Morayfield.
