OK, newbie question time .. ;D Where is the bolt/plug/etc on the gearbox (manual 5speed) for a 93 MU ? I got under the MU yesterday and had a look, but I didn't see anything that stood out or looked like a likely candidate for the filling point ..

You will find the filler plugs on the drivers side of the gearbox, there are 2. One is for the transer case which is at the side of the transfer case just above the crossmember and in line with the gearsticks, the other one is about a foot toward the front of that one on the side. Take the transfer one out first and make sure you have something to catch oil when you do. If you are unlucky like me, you will have a leaky seal which in turn fills the transfer from the gearbox. If you get any oil fall out of the rear, chances are, you will have to replace a similar amount in the gearbox itself, something I have to do regularly.

Note, there are another 2 identical looking ones (4 in total) that are the drains.... these are low down on the box. You will need a 24mm ring spanner (can use a 15/16")
