from my readings i have seen that some of the earlier 2.8 enigines came with bush turbos that can be rebuilt
seeing as i just took off my 2.8 turbo i was thinking about having a go at rebuilding it myself but dont know if its bush or ballbearing, will the part numbers on the turbo tell me?

You are wasting your time rebuilding it yourself. The cassett that houses the bearings is a replacement item and you just fit the impellor and turbine back on and make sure the housings and clearances are good.
The most important part is getting it balanced so it doesnt contact the housings at high speed.
Goodluck.
Matt.
