OK. symptoms are..... T-Belt, Low Gas, Water in fuel, Battery lights all stay on now even when motor is running. T-Belt may be I have put screw in wrong hole. no biggie there. Swapped out the hole instrument cluster with another working one. Same thing. Checked all fuses that I no of under the dash and in engine bay. All good. Checked all wiring and it all looks good. Any ideas where to go now before I head to an auto sparky and waste lots of money? Graeme. PS just so you all know I did a gearbox swap yesterday. The lights came on about 3 hours after starting to drive it.

Sounds like alternator failure. Possible other causes are loose earth wire to engine or loose battery wires although this would make starting hard, loose or damaged wires on the alternator or blown charge relay. Its unusual for an alternator to fail unless its in water. A voltmeter across the battery will confirm It should read 14 with engine running but I bet yours reads 12v. Another symptom is the loss of the cabin fan

Yup as always your advice was spot on. Dead alternator.
Got another bigger later model one sorted.
I got a bigger 1 so when I do my duel battery set up I have the power to charge them both.
Thanks geeves....

Swap done of the alternators and relays..
Only problem now is that when I start my truck is takes a few minites for the alternator to start working. some times it takes seconds to start other times it can take up to 5 minites.
I thinkin it might be the relay not kickin in straight away. any ideas???

Been there done that. Its a variation in the charge relay. If its new take it back otherwise your probably stuck with it. No long term harm. Normaly a quick rev as soon as you have oil pressure should clear it

Thanks geeves.
I thought it might of been that. Yea I have found out that if I rev it a bit it goes away. I got the relay second hand with the alternator. I might look at geting a new one as soon as I build up the finances after the last few weeks of repairing the MU. lol.
