Heading across the ditch in June. Looking for 2 bedroom apartment style accomodation. Have looked at The Oaks which is about all I have found so far ... Could any localites in Auckland suggest anywhere like that or know of a locality guide or something that I could research to look at some alternatives. Thanks in advance ...

How long you here for? What are your plans? Where you want to go? What you want to do? How many of you? Oaks is by the airport. There are other places. Email me at admin@opdtaka.co.nz.

You staying in Auckland or doing some travelling as well. We would like to cram in as much of the north island in a week as we can. 2 adults, 1child, 1 infant. would like to do the typical touristy things and see and do things we cant see or do here on OZ. We are not sure if we are going to base ourselves in Auckland for a couple of days and grab a car to see the place or do a motorhome thing and see where it takes us... tossing up the two atm. thoughts are appreciated ...

A must see is Rotorua. There is nothing in Ausi like it. As long as you are willing to pay tourist prices you could easily fill a month but even keeping to reasonable cost stuff theres plenty to do. Things worth while is Polynesian Spa A bit costly but still good with a mixture of geothermal poold with a combination of heat and chemical make up. Wakawarawara (spelt wrong) A large geothermal area with boiling water, mud and geysers. Worth doing but will make your plane fare seem cheap is the guided trip up Mount Tararewa our most deadly volcano with 200+ dead in the 1800s. Its a 4wd trip that used to be open to anyone who paid a exorbitant fee but now you can only go as a passenger in a tour at a rate that locals consider extorsion
