Hey All
Dumb question... obviously the Oil pressure gauge on the dash is to indicate Oil pressure right?
But what does that actually mean??? Sometimes it's way above 4 and sometimes it's right down near 2. I've checked my Oil level and everything seems fine there.
If someone could explain it to me, that would be choice.
Sorry again if this sounds like a really dumbass question

Its in kg/cm2 which is approximately psi divided by 14. Its quite normal to be 4 when cold but drop to just below 2 at idle when hot. As your oil gets old hot pressure will be slightly lower again. As long as it returns to about 4 at 2000 revs its normal

Okay, i was told (usual story) that all the fluids had been done when i bought my Mu. Now i read this and am like oooooh no somethink else to fix... when i first start up it up the guage reads full pressure (12 i think) untill it warms up then the gauge goes down to about 4@idle. and between 6-8 during driving.
I also have correct oil lvl, but cant really tell the condition of the oil.
Thoughts welcome.

Top of the dial is 8. I would always change oil upon purchase unless I had proof of when it was done and that good oil was used even if only to have a known point to start from Although your numbers are unusual its acting normaly otherwise so I would suspect a inaccurate gauge but as long as these numbers dont change why worry

you are right... it only goes to 8, for some reason i thought 12... ( lol.. 12v maybe), seems she is running correct.
