Hi there everyone,
I've just bought a '92 Mu with 4JB1-T and I've noticed, in amongst all the normal stuff that you need to do when you buy a used 4x4, that if I put my foot to the floor the auto box won't kick down unless I take my foot off slightly. I thought that the kick-down cable might be badly adjusted so I slackened it off, thinking that then the auto would kick down at full throttle, but there doesn't seem to be any difference to where it kicks down.
So I still have an auto which has a kick-down at about 3/4 throttle and if I put my foot further down, it changes back up into top gear.
Does anyone have any idea of what is going on? Is there some electrical throttle sensor or switch which needs adjustment?
TIA!
