Interesting subject, though about putting the Wizard body on the MU chassis. Why the Wizard is auto and I hate bloody autos Plus the Wizard has coil rear suspension, nicer ride. but the Wizards chassis is longer which you would have trouble with, get the tape measure out and do the rounds. Sorry about your MU. Cheers Bruce

It'd look good, don't know whether it would bolt on the same or not though. Another option would be the Mu ute, not many around though. Or you could take the back seats out and tray back the MU if you like lots of work, like they do with the nissans. That I'd love to see ;-) I think I've just messaged you on offroad express.

you will be first. Where are you? If you can do a sas you shouldnt have much trouble fitting any body. At worst body mounts might have to move. Look for Yarnos project. Hes fitting a Patroll chassis to a Mu body

Went to the wreakers today and measured up a single cab and a extra cab!! i thorght maybe a xtra cab with a double cab welside would be cool, but will see, there is a guy in napier with a mu who put a wall up behind the front seats and used a hilux rear window,

Have been thinking about making my mu into an "extra cab", with a try back, rear mount winch etc,,,,, would take a bit of work, would have to fab a sliding rear window and stuff, but i think the end result would be rather interesting!!!

Seen a couple of zuks with winch mounted behind the rear seat in a removeable format so it could be rehung on the front with a minimum of fuss but could still be used to pull backwards if the need arose. Not sure I would like a fully tensioned winch right behind my head after seeing a plasma rope break and reading all the stories that wire is worse. I like my head attached to my shoulders. Its a lot of mucking around to mount the winch underneath but in my opinioun theres nowhere else for a rear mounted winch.

I thought about doing this and might still when the missus finishs with her MU. I measured the Xtra cab and you would need to lengthen the chassis or tub the rear corner of the cab to fit the MU chassis. The rear wheels would foul on the cab corner. If you did the single cab it would fit fine and you prob find a Dual Cab rodeo tub or tray would be about the prefect fit for length afterwards. Imagine this with lift...33s and all the good gear! Goodluck and post pics if you go through it. Matt.

Is that a rodeo on a mu chassis? looks a bit stumpy?? not sure now, if i did it id move the fuel tank behing the cab between the chasis rails and have a high flat deck. Other idea we thort of is removing glass and rear roof panel and making a false wall behind the front seats. Decisions Huh P.S i lifted the body up today with the hi lift and put 4x2 blocks between body mounts, another 4inchs on top of my 10inchs i already have ;D

This idea has been in my "If I Had" file (money time decent workshop) ;D would be similar to a modern version of the old sII landie Have even done a little research . Cab should drop straight on but I would use a tray rather than a welldeck - better exit angles. You might want to use mu front guards as they have a bigger flare. A mate of mine did a mitsi l200 ute cab onto a short pajero and got a really good offroad machine. Mind you his brother did a mitsi jeep with a deisel v8 with a supercharger off a D9 bullie, butane injectors, 9 inch diffs and 35s and still wanted more grunt. But the when you are an automotive engineer the skys the limit.

ono2hi, i have seen a short wheelbase bighorn made into a ute. The guy cut the roof off the back, made up a wall with some windows in it, then capped off the tray part. It looked really cool and went well. This could be very easily done to a mu, you could remove the rear section and put a wall in, you would end up with a extra cab!!!!

Haha we have one of those files. We were looking through it last night some of the articles/ideas we printed off early 2005, some of them we have acheived but the more you modify your vehicle, the more you want to do, no such thing as a finished truck I reckon. A tray back cab plus MU would look good
