Hi guys! ;D A little intro before I go picking your brains- my name is Melissa, Im 27 and love doing boyish things myself. My hubby and I have a 1991 2.8 litre turbo diesel Isuzu mu in very bad condition as it cracked it, we got a new car and it has been sitting for 3 years awaiting the money needed to fix her. So thanks to K Rudds bonus we are in the process of getting the old girl moving and need some parts. As we live in Darwin it makes it even harder to get parts, the last time we got parts shipped from NZ which was bloody ridic ulous. Soooooooo Im making a list of what is the same from our car to what we can get locally off Rodeos or Jackaroos etc. So far Ive read that : the engine number is a 4jb1 which is the same as a rodeo engine but has a timing belt instead of a chain It looks very similar to a SWB (what does SWB stand for?) Frontera so we could possibly get cosmetic pieces off those. The chassie, brakes and bearings are all the same as a SWB Jackaroo. Steering box seal kit is a rodeo kit Can get timing belts at Auto 1 Is this all correct? What else can I add to my list? The first thing we need to get is some Salve and master cylinder for the clutch- which Holden vehicle are these parts likely to come from? Thanks in advance for your help guys!

Pretty good list so far but a couple of errors that wont affect anything. The Mu chassis is closser to the Rodeo than the Jackeroo but they share most parts anyway. Belive it or not the Mu is longer that the SWB Jackeroo by a couple of inches. Re clutch slave cylinder if you go to the local parts man and ask for a ubs55 Jackeroo you should be ok except Theres 2 slave cylinders for the Jackeroo. Up to 88 they had a spacing of 3 inches between the 2 bolts after 90 this was about 2 inches. This should help identify yours. (This was from Repco NZ today it wouldnt suprise me if the small mount is realy for a 92 onwards 3.1). Master cylinder should be the same as well. Front guards will fit from the Frontera but they are slightly different so you will need to change both or it will look funny

google some wreckers, I found parts that way. I'm in Alice Springs so even harder for me! There are a few wreckers on the east coast which deal with MU's. The club isuzu website has been a great help for me looking for parts and contacts etc.
