hey guys sorry bout asking another questions to do with body lifts. but ive read through most body lift posts. seems to just be 2 and 3 inch lifts. if i only wanted to do a 1 or 1 and half inch lift to the body would this eliminate modifying the gear shiter and 4wd shifter. i was goin to make the bocks up ma self. out of solid tube alluminium. could use give me specs. on the diameter i should use and what dia. bolt holes are good. i own the 92 mu 2.8td thanks

A 1 inch lift may not require a mod to the gear sticks, but a 1.5 inch lift would ( depends on your rubber boot and how stiff it is ) .. that being said, why only a 1 -1.5 inch lift ?
There are other things you would need to look at also with any body lift .. the radiator shroud, fuel lines, possible certification requirements.. ,
As to the blocks.. 65-70mm (?) diameter with 10 mm holes ( the bolts will be a 10mm bolt (in the rear atleast, as there are captive nuts in/on the chassis on the rear 4 mounts )) .. I'll need to see what diamter mine are ..

thanks alot for that. no reason for doing a smaller body lift. just for the gear shifter mods i wanted to stear clear of. but doesnt seem to hard might do a full 2 inches. fan shroud and fuel lines are easy. just not to sure on how to go about the gear shifters. and if they will hit the body if extended.

Why are you doing the lift? To fit bigger tires? Bigger tires lift everything, that'd be your best option. I think you can fit 32's without a lift, if you want 33s or bigger make sure the lift will be sufficient to fit them. Any lift will involve some adjustment, even just lifting the bumper to match, unless you like the gappy look. We did a 50mm lift from memory wasn't much to it really. The 4wd stick kept popping out of gear so we turned the rubber boot inside out, the second one we lifted had a softer boot so we didn't have to worry. I can remember we bent the gear stick can't remember whether we lengthened it as well or not.

thanks for the info guys. ye ive had 31's on there ever since i bought the car. i put a friends 33's on once and i had no scraping or rubbing. it only has the 2 inch suspension lift. i was actually looking into getting a 32 inch tyre to give the extra height. bigger tyres are probably the best option. just saving up for a new set is the har part. haha thanks
