How do know when I have top dead centre TDC on the diesel Mu? I have never had to work on diesels til now. On a petrol you can remove the spark plugs and rotate crank until piston 1 comes up. I can see there is a timing mark on the bottom pully on the crank shaft and one on the cam shaft pully. Unable to see the other (tooth) pully until I get the plastic cover off. Thanks Sydney

Hey you can find TDC the same way apart from pulling the sparkplug out remove the glow plug. You can get a Tool which screws into the glowplug port which has a whistle when u are on number 1 you will hear the compression thru the whistle when it stops u know u are at the top. Sometimes it takes a few goes to get it bang on but its a very quick way to find tdc. When u have found it the timing marks on the crank should align up. Hope this helps
