???hi all, ex Kiwi allenbak here for the first time, looks like the place i need to be, owner of 1991 mu 2.8td. I have a question, the bottom triple pulley on my mu motor is wobbling belts have gone slack, down to the workshop she goes! noticed the noise when driving back from Byron bay tonight. There appear to be some metal filings on the inside of the pulley which is decidedly loose. Not a good thing I think. have i done any damage or is it just a matter of getting the pulley bolted back on?

The last time the timeing belt was done they undid the large bolt instead of the 4 small ones. The large bolt is now loose. You might be lucky and just have to tighten it but I would dismantal fully to check. The pulley bolts to a spacer with a keyway that holds the cambelt pulley and this keyway wears when the bolt is loose. If your very unlucky it also wears the keyway in the cranckshaft
