Auto locking hub

Hey Guys

I Have a 93 3.1 auto Mu and have a problem with the right hand auto locking hub some times when u engage hi 4 or low 4 it clicks for a while then will go away but when u back out of some where it will click some more but may go away again can any one help me with what this could be?

Taking it apart and giveing it a good clean and lube will probably fix.
What type of 4wding do you do. If its anything serious you should consider manual hubs

Not Really that serious, bit of sand and a little water, thats about it. thanks very much for your answer. is it going to be a hard and long job to do?

Fiddly but straight forward. A few things in there are spring loaded but normaly its only a little rust on the gear thats visable when you take the top off thats at fault
