I thought I would start a thread to summarise what everyone has done and who they got to do it / sourced the parts from. So if you could list: FrontLift: How high it lifted or where it is now sitting Who: Who did the work Shockies: Type / part number Price: Mention if parts or fitted Supplier: Contacts: Name and number if you have them RearLift: Who: Springs: Price: Supplier: Contacts: Shockies: Price: Source: Contacts: Overall Comments: See if we can get a definative supplier list happening. Jimmy.

For the front I have done a ball joint flip with a 5mm spacer.
For the rear I made 30mm longer shackles and had the springs reset by Bellamy and East in chch.
Been 5 years on my reset springs and it's getting time to redo them.

For the rear I have Lovells springs with 30mm lift and the front is just wound up to match plus a ball joint flip (no spacer) with original equivelent Tociko shocks all round. This took a saggy bighorn from 835mm measured at the top of the gaurd to 900mm on 31 inch tyres. Rear springs were 370 NZ I think + $80 for new U bolts that werent expected to need changing + $30 for polyurathane bushes. Shocks were about 70 each The rest was home labour The result is a good family car that dosnt disgrace itself off road but is still safe and comfortable on the open road.

Jimmy, I went through the same process 7 months ago and it come down to a few a simple things.
You are limited to amount of lift due to the Indendent front suspension. Most mechanics will/should tell you that a full 2" in the front is unlikely and places to much stress on the torsion bars(even if you upgrade to heavy torsion bars). To get the most out of the front I guess can import an upper arm kit from USA (Calmani) and that will get you 2-3" on the front.
Rear,.....how stiff do you want it. If you go to high in the rear you'll get the grinding noise due the angle of the tailshaft being to great.
Brand Names, most places probably have not done the MU and therefore are a bit slow getting back to with parts, but all the big brand names will go the MU.
I know that Redlands 4WD in brisbane know the MUs suspension set ups off by heart. Give them a call and they should point you in right direction.
I can email you a quote list that they gave me for my MU, 2 quotes on it for TJM gear only and another for the set that they thought was better and slightly cheaper. None of these 2 uote have the torsion bar in it (add another 350-500 for a set).
Let me know if want this emailed to you.
AS for my set up, I got ALL TJM gear leaf springs and shocks, can't remeber the facts but I am around 940 at the front and 950 rear from top of wheel arches down on 31" tyres. Ride is stiff and bumpy but thats what going to happen if get a lift.
(Gained 1-1.5" in the front and 2-2.5" in the rear)
Cheers Chris

Trekmaster told me today that there are some new 'comfort' springs coming in that are a bit lighter.
The guy said that the springs from the Rodea may be too heavy for the MU.
How have you found them Dave?
Also how did you go with the tailshaft after 80mm of lift?
He also reccomended EFS Big Bore shocks for $100 each...

The set up Greg got for me was HD as i pull a 1.5 Ton trailer every day of the week, whith that said it workes orsome the only bad word would be slite vibration as i back off with out the trailer i do not find this a problem. After the weekend at Levuka the truck is very well setup for my needs. This setup will not work with most MU owners. I would highly recomend talking with Greg for the setup best for your usage.
With the front i have done a ball flip & wound the TB's up so the front sits 20mm lower than the rear without the trailer. Im running Monroe W shocks all round as standard Rodeo. Hope this helps all MU wheelers.
