I know a clubmate of mine from the Canterbury Recreational 4wd club has just done this and would happily pass on some tips. Give him a buzz - Clem Brewer at Pitstop Hornby - tell him you were referred by Mike Anderson from club. I'm sure he will be happy to share some pointers from his experience.

Me too
I am interested - When lengthening torsion bars you need longer springs and longer suspension don't you?

You cant lengthen torsion bars as they have to fit in unmovable mounts at each end. I think this isnt what you realy mean. You can wind up the torsion bars by adjusting the large bolt aprox half way between the wheels of if it dosent go far enough move the sline round a little more. This raises the front but doesnt affect spring rate but the travel is controled by bump stops in the suspension and adjusting these is a complete topic in itself as you get into ball joint flips and broken cvs and bad wheel alignment if your not carefull. You can fit torsion bars with a higher spring rate to get stiffer suspension. For the rear you have a choise of reseting your current springs which is cheap but mixed reviews. You can fit longer shakles but each extra inch of lift requires 2 inches of extra shackle or you can fit new springs pre made to the required lift. This is the best way.
