Could anyone here give me some pointers as to why my Mu makes a "CLANG" noise when ever I got over a bump a little to quick ?
It's a metal on metal noise from the rear that happens if both wheels go up a bump at the same time (say when they've cut away the seal on a road during roadworks)
The shocks should be good, as they've just been replaced (one popped and chucked all about).
Thanks.

Well I'm no expert but check the all the bushes especially the ones in the shocks and then leafs? Did the noises occur after the new shocks if yes then I guess can narrow the search down the suspension only, if NO then maybe one of the more experienced MU boys could help? If you can maybe and get under the car and get a friend or two to jump up and down in the back and see that makes a noise? My 2cents worth I hope its something simple to fix Cheers Chris

Mark as Chris said check the bushes on the rear of the leaf springs where they are attached to the shackles. If these wear hitting small bumps makes a knocking noise when the shackle pin hits the rolled end of the leaf spring. j

Also give the exhaust a good shake It might of moved and be hitting somwhere. One that few people want to talk about but is serious esspecialy if work has been done recently is check your wheels are tight and dont ask how I know this. loose wheels start as a knocking noise and end with a scraping noise and overtakeing wheel Also if its only happened since the new shocks were fitted then they are a good place to look.
