After doing some extensive research into Extractors and High flow inlet manifolds in combination with bigger exhausts, one of the things that kept springing up was having a seperate wastegate. The Extractors are on the shelf for a rainy day (I need my Mu back on the road), however I already had a new flange made for the turbo exhaust which has a seperation between the exhaust and the wastegate. The exhaust now has a nice round hole in the flange which should increase the flow nicely (less turbulence) and the wastegate has its own tube which means it wont be affected by backpressure off the exhaust. The wastegate tube will rejoin the exhaust just before the flexi joint and should actually given a small suction to the line. For an intersting place to start reading go to www.headersbyed.com/

yes it does,it also helps prevent boost creep by allowing the wastegate to do its intended job instead of getting congestion from turbulant gasses trying to escape..
