I recently upgraded my exhaust on my 2.8 td and all it took was a straight through stock pipe with a 2" hotdog that was it and now it flies its an inexpensive mod that impressed.
- Much more power
- Better fuel economy
- Better louder note
Only cost $170AUS

So did you just cut out the muffler and use a hotdog instead?

yeah it worked much better than i expected
it now has a lot more power the turbo kicks in at about 1500 rpm and it blows off aswell (sounds really cool).
The note is alot deeper and louder but not annoyingly loud just enough to sound good but not intrusive on highways or on normal road
All up it was the best $170 i spent
