My clutch decided to die a few days ago. I have it all in bits... literally... bits fell out.. might be the problem... anway I have all new bits to put in but also just discovered the pilot bearing was duff and has worn the gearbox input shaft. So it needs to come out and be replaced or machined and bushed. The question is has anyone taken this shaft out of a MUA5 (5 speed manual)? Can it all come out the front or does the gearbox need to be split?

unless your going to machine it yourself I would just give the whole lot to a gearbox shop and let them worry about these things. There is an exploded drawing of the gearbox in the ubs manual I belive you have

Hi Geeves, yes I would machine it myself... I have all the machines to do it... an exploded drawing in the ubs manual you say? Unfortunately I had a computer crash a wee while back and lost it.... is there a copy on the gmail account? or any possibility of getting just that one page up on here? An exploded drawing will answer all my questions.... I may well rob the shaft from one of my other gearboxes.... as other than that this is a good gearbox
Thanks.
