Hi All,
Firstly I would like to say that the Lokka is great.
However I am having a problem with my front end since fitting it that I am at a loss to figure out.
When I am driving a speed in 4WD, like on the beach, the vehicle pulls hard to the left under acceleration.
This is noticeable mostly when changing up gears.
I have had the wheels alligned, Tires are new and all the same size and at the same pressure and the power steering while leaking slowly is working well.
One thing I have noticed, that may or may not be relevent is that when the vehicle pulls to the left the steering wheel will only pull to about 45 degrees to the left and then hold steady. As in it will not pull any further than that and if left the vehicle will drive at that angle smoothly.
My initial thoughts were wheel allignment. But I have had it done twice since fitting it. Once after I lifted it and again at the last service just 500klms ago.
The problem is not noticeable in 4WD on the dirt. But then I have never driven in 4WD at speed anywhere other than the beach.
The unlock test appears fine, though after speaking with 4WD systems today I will be doing a more in depth test this evening.
I am hoping someone may have a suggestion as to what this could be.
Or those others with this device fitted to their vehicles should share their experiences with them so I may further isolate what could be the cause.
Thanks
Jimmy.

You say this is on a beach. This is a long shot and might be stupid but you did test it both ways along the beach?

I've had no issues with mine which has been in nearly two years now. They take a bit to get used to at first being very grabby and the tourque steer is considerable but never noticed any veering on tracking. When you do steer in a direction it will carry on that way until you counter steer but that is the nature of 'no dif' which is essentially what you have. The operational description of the unit from memory is it only disengages when one wheel turns slower than the other on either lock. Maybe yours is disengaging at speed suddenly applying the drive to one wheel? J

Ive got a lokka in the front of a Rodeo - and while it makes the steering feel a bit different, it dosent make it pull one way or the other. Major affect depends on whether the power is on or not - if it feels like it is going the wrong way and you back off it will suddenly turn the way the wheel is pointed. This is most noticable in sand or mud - it goes where it wants unless you back off
