can anyone tell me what is the tallest final drive ratio on the isuzus,i keep trying to look for another gear while on 5th gear.

the 2 common ratios are 4.3 and 4.56. You might be able to find something taller in a 2wd ute but matching front and back will be dificult

I know how you feel. There are two things on my truck I would like changed. 1. Lose the IFS 2. Taller 5th Gear or better yet 6th Jimmy

A quick way to improve overall gear ratios without alot of exoensive diff work is just to fit bigger tyres next time you change them. Standard bighorns come out with about 29-29.5" tyres but will with take 32" with a bit of suspension adjustment - not too dear. This improves gear ratio by about 8-10%, makes them accelerate a bit quicker to say 70ks, and a bit slower from there to top speed. Be careful not to put too big tyres or you will cut too much off performance if you haven't tuned motor up to compensate for this.
