About 30 km/h truck starts to vibrate quite badly then dies down until about 80 km/h.
Accelerating from 80 to 100 about half throttle onwards vibrates quite violently too, yet cruising at about 60 it seems to be fine.
The right wheel hub seems loose when I push with my leg it makes a clicking noise.
Is this a CV joint gone? or perhaps an unbalanced wheel? And could this be the source of the Vibrations?

The description sounds more like a universal joint Try getting underneath and trying to rotate both ends of the drive shaft. Some play in the diff is normal but any play in a universal joint is bad. It might also be a wheel balence or other suspension issue but unlikly to be a cv as they do no work while in 2wd. I would worry about the wheel hub and take very urgent action It might also be the cause. Jack the wheel up and wobble the wheel. If the wheel nuts are loose tighten them I know from experiance what losing a wheel at 100kph is like. It is more likly to be a bad wheel bearing though This will show as play in the whole hub assembly and a grinding noise as you rotate the wheel. A replacement bearing kit is around $80 + grease and will take a mechanic around 1 1/2 hours or if you know what your doing around 2 hours. (If you do a lot of off road try and do it yourself as whell bearing replacment is a common 4wd ailment)

Hey Geeves
Thanks for your reply.
got under the truck about 15 mins ago and turned the driveshaft at both ends and there seems to be about 20 mm play at both ends and allso head a small click at both ends as well.
Would that be the driveshaft itself or gearbox?
All nuts were tight as hell on the universal.
Allso check the right front wheel nuts, all nice and tight, but seal underneath has split.
Any ideas?
Will take it to the garage tommorrow.

If you are including the flange on the diff then this sounds normal. The universals themselves were what we were checking These result in play across the universal. These universals can also sieze if not lubed regularly. The originals have grease nipples but replacements dont always. Mechanics frequently forget these when doing a lube. What seal do you mean on the front wheel. If its the lower ball joint its quite easy to replace. If its a cv boot count on 1 1/2 to 2 hours labour. If you do it as per the work shop manual it takes 6 but theres a trick.
