When left idiling in neutral our bighorn 3.1td makes quite a loud rattle, and if u put the clutch in the noise goes away. The clutch isnt slipping or anything, although ive also noticed that when u change from 1st to 2nd when you put the clutch in the whole truck shakes.
What could be done to make this go away or should I not bother....
Thanks

Might be the bearing on the input shaft to the gearbox. Might also be the clutch release bearing. Both these req gearbox out to fix. Theres also a few other things but more info is req to identify

I've seen this rattle with the quite common stone in the transfer case rattle.
However, as Gevees says we nee a bit more info. Can you climb underneath and find out what is actaully rattling?
Also if you add a location to your profile it may be easier to help - Thanks.
