hey all First thing in the morning when the engine is just warming up my auto transmission seems to bunny-hop for the first gear change but then won't do it again after that!¿? It also sometimes does it if it's been sitting at work for a while, but it's still only the first gear change and then it's fine after that!! Any Ideas Cheers Mike

the bunny hoping saga has takin a turn the auto guys where our v6 is are investagating the transfer box. it could be the auto hubs trying to engage and turning the transfer box.or when reassembled the transferbox lever may be malfunctioning and throwing it in to 4wd drive .under accelerration.work continues .

Well we got the bighorn home after the auto guys couldnt find out what was wrong. they were sure it was nothing to do with the auto/recon and suggested that the automatic hubs were checked. Today i took the hubs apart and the left side where to noise was aparently coming from was fine . Pulled the the right side apart and found that the drive shart circlip had come off and the drive shaft was now thirty to fourty mils further in than it should be. replaced clip and reassembled. Test drove and seems to be working fine in 4low and 4high also no noise in 2high. will drive in the morning to see if its fixed .As the mulfunction could be a result of the mysterius bunny hooping or could be the cause. not a hundred percent sure yet.

ok. have fixed the bunny hopping bighorn. It turned out to be the right hand drive shaft to the front wheel. With it it put back on and the hub working properly we have had not one bunny hop. Hope this will help Mike /spudsbighorn.
