.....hello, i'm danny from manila, philippines. i have a '96 3.1 TD auto (JDM).. everytime i put into gear i hear banging sound a the rear. it'sbeen like this for 3 years, i've inspected the drive shaft universals and they were fine, i lowered the idle to around 850 rpm and adjusted the valve body cable ( i think?) allowing more slack. the noise lessened, but it was still there. i,ve had my mechanic check it and told me not to worry.. lately i.ve checked the diff for some play and there was some.. decided to get a surplus from a bighorn and got the right ratio (4.3) and lucky for me i got one with an LSD.. the lsd is working fine, but the banging sound was still there, but lessened still. i've checked the suspension and bushings and were still okay. is this sound really normal? help.....

center bearing on the drive shaft. if a mechanic said dont worry its probably not important but it would of been nice to be told what it was. It could be just play in the gears

only other thing it could be is the bushes in the rear springs. The ones in the rear shackles have a short life
