Hi all, it was suggested to start a thread about replacing this seal as it seems to be a common problem, so i will do my best to describe the way i do it. THIS IS MY WAY, SO DON'T BADGER ME IF I DO IT DIFFERENTLY TO SOMEONE ELSE. Ok, so first of all, jack up the side of your truck and support on a axle stand, and remove tire. Remove the rubber flap, you will probably break the plastic clips so you may have to use cable ties when you put it back on. photobucket.com/albums/b327/mulover/?action=view¤t=5173cea0.jpgNow remove the bolt that claps the shaft to the splines on the unit (12mm head), you have to fully remove it or the shaft won't come off, then mark the position of the shaft in relation to the splines, so you know where to put it back on, then slide the shaft off. photobucket.com/albums/b327/mulover/?action=view¤t=46e49356.jpgRemove the dust cap by sliding it off, being carefull not to rip it, and fully clean the unit with degreaser or the likes. Now the fun begins!! Remove the circlip form the shaft. photobucket.com/albums/b327/mulover/?action=view¤t=b69b9283.jpgNow using a drill, drill hole suitable to start a self tapping screw into the outside of the seal, through its metal body. Incert the screw and slowly turn it to lift out the seal. It may take a few goes to get it out, (and a few drill bits!!). Remove the seal and clean the surfaces of the unit. Now install the seal with a little grease on its edges, and reassmble the unit. Please let me know if you would like more details.

Cheers for the guys good to finally have the info in one post, I still have one power steering box in pieces sitting in a box to be reassembled one day. and another spare that needs the seal replaced, and the one in my truck that works fine with a nice new seal in it. The seals are around $28 to $35 from holden, would definately recommend getting original part as no aftermarket ones are exactly the same dimensions (tried many bearing, engineering places). It is easier to change the seal in situ rather than change the unit, trust me!!!

Glad it was helpful to you, its way easyer in place aye!! That seams dear for a seal though, even though its genuine.
