Hey guys just wondering if the factory manual hubs off a 94 mu 2.8 would fit a 1993 3.1 mu?. At the moment i have superwinch hubs on my 3.1 mu but have a mate who is wrecking a 2.8 mu that has the better factory hubs on it. if they are interchangable i'll swap them over but just wanted to know if they are a straight swap same spline count first
cheers

same spline but if yours had auto hubs originaly have a look how it all comes apart on the wreck. There are 2 circlip slots

Do you mean where the spline comes through the hub? the circlip that stops the cv joint fom moving in an out?

Firstly, get rid of the Superwinch hubs. Poor product in my opinion.
Then worry about fitting the factory ones.
The splines are the same. There are usually 2 circlip grooves (28 & 20mm) on the shaft but some only have the outer 20mm one. Different hubs use one groove or the other. So, if you have a hub which needs the inner 28mm groove and your shaft only has the outer one you will need to pack it with thrust washers or make an adapter.
Anything you do will be better than having those other hubs.

superwinch may not be the best but they are heaps better than the ORA brand. Ive seen 2 of these explode and one of these was the third one for that owner. He was only driving across a dry paddock at the time it went. I thivnk they are a chinese copy of a brazilian copy of the superwinch hub

I managed to swap the hubs over went alot easier that i thought everything from the 2.8 went straight into mine both 17 spline axles. The factory ones are much better alot better design than the superwinch ones. The thing i dont like about the superwinch ones is the way the gasket mates up to the housing water keeps getting through i had this problem a number of times, They are better than some out there on the market but i think you cant go wrong with the factory Aisin unit
