Blew the passenger side inner CV somewhere close to the Serpentine Church, so if anyone comes across a couple of large ball bearings.....hands off they're mine ;D
Now I'm really in the stink because no-one seems to stock inners. No problem for an outer. Does anyone know where I can get one?

Not exactly sure what you mean when you say 'inner cv' - its usually the outers that break and the inner is a sod to get out of truck. However two Chch outfits that will help you and freight to Dunedin as needed.
First is CV Specialists on 03 379 0436. They have rebuilt replacements - not cheap chinese replacements which are of inferior steel quality. Give Darren a call and tell him Mike Anderson referred you and he will help. Parts $125-200.
Second option is a wrecker - call George on 027 208 8109. Tell him I referred you.
I've spoken to both guys this morning - Tuesday. In both cases they will need to know exact part, and spline count on shaft. Call one of them - maybe start with CV Specs - and define exactly what part it is and they and George can give you prices from there.
Note - always tell them you want trade or club price.
PS have been into the serpentine many times - nice spot - had heard DOC had graded track flat into church. What is the track like now - any challenges there? Main challenge used to be the track down to the old stamper, or the track out the front of the church through the fence and left up the hill.
Mike. Give me a call if you have any problems with CVs. 322 4570

Inner CV being the "joint" nearest the engine. Yes, it was a sod to get off. Mainly becasuse everything else has to come off to get the thing out. ...and we all know how long it takes to undo nuts that have never been loosened since they were installed :-) Many thanks for the info, I'll file that for future reference - my local wrecker came good this morning too! The DOC have graded most of the road from the Deep Stream Hut that leads to the Serpentine church. Main challenge is still down to the stamper, nice ruts. although it was a pothole on the track back to the Onslow road which saw the end of my CV.
