Have looked at some of the links posted about dual transfers, but has anybody done it, or know a site with a bit more detailed info on it? Also, any downsides to doin a ball joint flip. Have been told by local ARB and a suspension shop not to touch! I have made longer (50mm) shackles and lifted the front. it now has a heap of negative camber and is scrubbing tyres (has been aligned by suspension shop who told me not to touch ball joints???)

It has been done, and can be found at 4x4wire.com Isuzu forums; There is good photos with detail somewhere too. www.4x4wire.com/forums/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB68&Number=756875&Forum=,,,c15,,,&Words=dual%20transfer&Searchpage=3&Limit=25&Main=752321&Search=true&where=sub&Name=&daterange=1&newerval=3&newertype=y&olderval=&oldertype=&bodyprev=#Post756875 www.4x4wire.com/forums/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB68&Number=724116&Forum=,,,,c15,,,,&Words=dual%20transfer&Searchpage=4&Limit=25&Main=724116&Search=true&where=sub&Name=&daterange=1&newerval=3&newertype=y&olderval=&oldertype=&bodyprev=#Post724116 www.stak4x4.com/tech.htmwww.4x4wire.com/forums/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB68&Number=724116&Forum=,,,,c15,,,,&Words=dual%20transfer&Searchpage=4&Limit=25&Main=724116&Search=true&where=sub&Name=&daterange=1&newerval=3&newertype=y&olderval=&oldertype=&bodyprev=#Post724116 This last link is the best one, follow the link in that to many "how to" photos. You'll have to cut and paste those links to get em to work. Balljoints; There is very little negatives, you put a little more stress on the CV and CV boot as the downward articulation is slightly more, wheel alingment has to be redone. Many have done it will no ill effects. Cheers, James

In NZ a balljoint flip is questionable from a wof point of view as in the original position the ball joint passes through the upper arm so cannot come free if the bolts fail where as after a flip there is no longer this safety mecchanism. Rememember that the bottom ball joint does not bolt though the arm so whether this is a real issue is questionable. I have never heard of anyone being failed a wof because of a ball joint flip and know several wof issuers that specialise in 4wd that perform this operation and issue wofs to the same cars

Had no issues with my flip, and after the lift the alignment guy said I was on the maximum for aligment. This is what made me do the flip, and now the alignment is well withing range and been fine. J

Perhaps ball joints are marginaly legal/illleagl in NZ. I clearly stated the ball joint flipp to the certerfier when I had all the other mods done.... it wasn't an issue to him.

Thanks for the info guys. Some links wouldnt come up (temporally ofline???). Hey Yarno, how involved is the SAS swap??? I dont do that much 'hardcore' stuff, is it worth looking at or just mod the IFS set up. Will keep looking for detailed info on the dual isuzu transfers.

How involved is the SAS, well you start with the oxy (gas axe), then alot of welding and hopefully sometime in the near future I will finish... It's only been a year and a half now.... If there is no "hardcore" stuff then just play with what you already got, then you might get more hardcore...

A year and a half! I need mine to get to work every day so mite give that a miss i think. Lookin for a winch now and in process of building a offroad trailer/camper. mmm...gotta fix those busted shackle mounts as well! Bloke who works next door to me is in a 4x4 club and has been at me to go on a run with them sometime, so i think more hard core stuff will cum in time
