I have been redoing my brakes on my 91 bighorn as they were real spongy got them back to normal till it goes into Drive or Reverse we think it may be a air hose we found broken off not sure where its from it had a cap with a spring under it (looks like presser release) which was connected to about 10cm of rubber hose then to a 90 deg elbow that connected to something any help would be great as it me and a mate stumped Thanks Aaron

might need a picture to tell. Check your callipers move freely on the slides. This is the biggest problem with these brakes

The cap with a spring thing and the 90 deg elbow indicates that it is a breather for either diff, trans or transfer case.

it might be transfer case as brother in law broke it when we took gear box out but he cant remember where its from any ideas on brakes we have replaced master cylender, brake booster, all vacuam lines and all the seals in the calipers and also bleed them so many times its cost me a small fortune in brake fluid and the pedal is still going to the floor when trying to drive

An unlikly cause but has happened to a top mechanic so dont laugh. When you had the calipers off did you put them back on the correct side. If the bleed nipple is not at the top you cant succsessfully bleed the system. It could also be the rubber pipes giveing up and starting to ballon. All rubber parts should be replaced every 6 years but we all know how many people follow that advice. (none) Try getting a brake pipe clamp and use it to block off one calliper at a time to the faulty one is found
