98 rodeo, V6 engine. when disengaging high 4wd, I must come to a complete stop, then accelerate in an aprox 90 degree turn(in either direction), or 4wd will not completely disengage(4wd light on cluster blinks). so far, the front axle vacuum actuator has been replaced, vacuum supply checked on both ends(good) and there is no binding of the slider/sleeve in the axle with or without weight on the tires. problem cannot be duplicated on the lift, either... any help would be greatly appreciated. -could

Sounds like something is binding. Try driveing straight forwards then back a few feet and see if this releases it. If you drive onto a herd surface before disengageing 4wd you can get transmission wind up that can prevent a full release. Also if your tyres are not all the same size the same thing can happen Even a difference in tread depth is enough
