my Mu didnt pass its WOF because both front break hoses were twisted and one had a nick in it,
is there any reason they would be twisted?
and where the hell can i get some more, ive been trying to go through our local dealer but they cant get what i want, they keep sending bighorn ones, they said the mu ones were superseaded by them but the fittings dont fit.
super cheap was super useless, repco didnt have MU's in its computer system and BNT wanted $80 a hose (and i dont know if there the right ones)
GJH858 BRAKE HOSE Frt ISUZU UBS, these are the ones they sent me
i really didnt expect to be stumped by brake hoses

twist = dont know Suspect a bad mechanic but its a bit strange. They should be the right hoses but measure them before fitting to be sure

I don't know if you have Enzed hydraulics in NZ (hmm.. there's a play on words there! ;D) but could they or someone like them make up new hoses for you using your original fittings?
Or perhaps a brake service centre?

They could make hoses and they would be very good hoses but due to the way NZ law is written they are unlikely to be legal.

twist = dont know Suspect a bad mechanic but its a bit strange. They should be the right hoses but measure them before fitting to be sure lol, i just got this MU, ive had a few problems, there were 2 nuts missing off the back of the turbo (under the heat sheild) and the other 2 were finger tight, when i tryed that cold start button thing it blew through the gasket and made a really bad noise at over 3 grand had me quite worried for a few days until we found the problem...... and mine has been passing warrants missing the back seatbelts (floor part) back seat locking latch and twisted hoses.......... maybe lol the bighorn hoses are slightly too long and the fittings are different, the mu ones fit into a hex where as the ones they sent are round with 2 sides ground off...... i could make them fit but something tells me thats not a good idea i had making them priced out and the guy said "yeah maybe around $100 for one, the one i want brand new is around $27 so im not likeing that option. were getting a 3rd set 2morrow hopefully, and hopefully there the right ones.....

im on the kapiti coast, but travel into wellington on a regular basis, im trying to get some 2nd hand hoses off wrecked MU's, the fittings on the new ones seem to be wrong and the hoses are longer, the fittings wont fit into the bracket that are fixed to the MU, so you cant get the clips back on to hold them there, im new at all this and im learing as i go along.

i called Hillside & Alpha Auto Wreckers Ltd in upper hutt they had 2 mu's but told me they cant sell anything 2nd hand in the way of breaks, its against the law or something, the guy said he just picked up some from repco for his mu but hasnt fitted them yet so maybe he might run into what i did, i might call him back and tell him how i got on we went to BNT in porirua cause the one down our way said they had the ones i want in stock, went there they were $80 and were still the same as the other wrong ones. so we went to a place in porirua called City Centre Brake & Clutch yellow.co.nz/companies/Brake&Clutch-Services/City-Centre-Brake-&-Clutch/100256198_382.htmlthey make to order i gave the guy the old hose and he said yeah i can do it might take a while......... maybe done by 1:30pm (it was about 12 o'clock at that stage) i was really surprised they could do it that fast, got the hose it was the right length and the fittings were perfect, my mu is all back togeather and ready to get a warrant. the hose cost me $57, and now i know where to go first if this ever happens again

I havent delt with that garage lately but 16 years ago they rebuilt the gearbox in a aussi assembled corona wagon for me. They did a good job even down to knowing that for that gearbox holden parts were the same and half the price.
