Hi there, Just wondering if anyone knows if you are able to adjust the pressure on the Torsion Bars. The reason that I ask this is because I currently the ride is to stiff and it is drawing on the point of being uncomfortable. There seems to be a bolt at the rear anchor point of the bar, could this be the adjustment. [glow=red,2,300]Thanks heaps.[/glow]

If you torsion bars have saged, as they do, it maybe hitting on the bumpstops. So yes in this case if you increase the tension on these bolts to get wheel travel about half way between the upper and lower stops... Also if you go and adjust the bars you have to do each side the same and either bounce the front or drive forward/backwards to make it sit in its normal position as the wheels/tyres will be trying to move inwards (if this makes scence)

In thereoy this should work but if you get it wrong it will still sit leval due to the sway bar. I know an Isuzu driver in Auckland that did this and had al sorts of handling probs. ie left hand corners it would roll but not right hand ones. He disconected the sway bar then readjusted so both sides were the same hight and everything was fine.

Or count the number of turns of the bolt for both sides... but only as a guide or first attempt as It may settle different each side.

Adjusting those bolts on the torsion bars will alter your ride height not so much the ride comfort. If the ride is too harsh experiment with lower tyre pressures then look at replacing the shocks.

im running with my tires at 24-25psi with my torsion bars near fully loaded.
plus adjustable rancho (front) shocks.... don't whether this's correct....but I ve adjusted my shocks to the hardest (5), believably able to absorb shocks more effectively since there's aint much play by the loaded torsion bars already....
do share ur commensts pls. s.6.
