I thought seeing I am nearly finished this little project I would put up some info on how I have achieved getting 33 x 12.5 15's under my 1989 LWB Bighorn. Here is a pic of the standard truck before the project started. After a Ball joint flip. PDF File of Instructions under the modifications section on the page in this link. clubisuzu.com/Workshop_Repairs.htmlAnd a torsion bar wind. (I have a link to instructions on this somewhere, I will dig it out) Then a wheel alignment, and a purchase of some ROH 15x8 Solid axle land cruiser offset rims (you need the deepest offset you can get), we have got to this. Currently running some 33x12.5x15 Hankook's, but as you can see from the below pic there is a lot of room to move in the front guards for a more aggressive tread! All I have left to do is sort out the rear clearance, at the moment on hard artic when the tyre comes up into the guard it is rubbing on the top of the wheel arch, but only misses by about 1/2 an inch. I am in the middle of building some extended shackles for it, and once they go in I will also fit the rubber guard flares I have, so will update this when that's all done.

hi nice work, the shackles should help with the clearance but i cant help wandering if you already have a body lift? If not i'd be doing that first especially as its only missing by 1/2 an " or so?, 2" lift will fix that straight away? & also help when you get more aggressive tyres (muddies) coz the side walls will probably contact it more than your 33 ATs than 1/2 an ". b.t.w with those offset rims your runnin keep regular checks on them wheel nuts, coz my mates 75series has sheered all studs off on 2 separate occasions due to his wheel nuts loosening up, damaging his rims on both occasions. a costly exercise. but he is runnin 36ers tho?. big wheels + big offset + muddies = extra pressures on nuts & studs when cornering especially. cheers muvit

It is on the agenda, but have to be careful that my lovely wife can still use it, it's popular for trips to the shopping mall at the moment , cheers for the heads up on the wheel nuts, I will make sure I keep an eye on them I had a look on the weekend at the body lift option, it will actually help with my electric fan set up as well, it's a bit tight around the front pulley region at the moment, so a lift will help there as well ;D

Hi Billy - so you have a torsion bar windup with standard rear shackles for the above pics with 33s? If you need extra rear height after fitting mud treads, Robert Craig at Autobend in Chch(former clubmate) made me up some extended shackles with bolts for me for about $80 for my last truck.
About to fit 33s to a lwb bighorn but will do a 2" body lift plus 1" shackle/torsion bar lift. Do you happen to know what the offset is for those rims you have? I will probably need to buy a set of 8" rims - KATS at Kaiapoi has new steel spoke mags at $85 apiece - but should be able to pick up a set of 15x8s with right offset for 1-200 if I get lucky.
