Noticed this site on another NZ 4x4 website. It is an American outfit in Virginia and has some isuzu development products including beefed up tie rods, quick release sway bar disconnects etc. I see they also market aussie lokkas and at not too bad price. Worth a glance for ideas. Site is www.independent4x.com/

Interested in seeing if anyone has used or installed something similar to these guys 1/4" lower ball joint spacer ? Haven't found any references while searching. In conjunction with a torsion bar wind (been done for ages), top ball joint flip and low profile bump stop it would seem the logical front end set up. Actually cutting up an old ball joint would look the same however maybe 1/2" is cutting it too fine for the outer CV to clear the A arm.
Also interested in any first hand experience with revolver shackles. My rear end has what looks like their "Add a leaf" set up and interested in whether this revolver shackle setup would add back some articulation that the lift has taken away.....

The spacer is for the upper ball joint and is used in conjunction with a ball joint flip. It is tapered as well. Stuff I have read says it works well with bigger lifts but puts the cvs at crazy angles unless you lower the diff. They also make nice expensive brackets for doing this but there are other ways

I'm working on this at the moment, mainly to get the camber back to standard.I've made a bunch of spacers to go between the upper ball joint and the arm.there's about 40 mm worth of spacers but i have some reservations about how safe that much adjustment will be.That's plan A.Plan B is to work out how much spacing I need, then weld in a plate at the right height and bolt the ball joint to it.I'll need to space the bump stop down to stop the cvs from jamming and breaking.I'll try and get some pix 2 morrow. Re the tie rods, I've made a couple of guards which u bolt onto the rods to stop them getting bent. Regards, Harry.

Thanks guys, guess that makes sense and I could see how the CVs would get a harder time allowing that much downwards travel. I think I'll leave it as is and get a wheel alignment this week after fitting new ball joints - if I need more adjustment I'll look into it then.
