If you are able to do some engineering work yourself why not do the SAS on your truck? MU's look awesome when SAS'ed and while I can't tell you how well it goes yet since its still "nearly done" its ramped up against a reasonably seriously modified hilux with better travel and a nicer balance. Cost wise its gotta be comparable to the continuous outlay of foldy cash for CV's. Especially if you go with a standard hilux front axle with a 4.5 diff in it and just spring over the back end. Yarno and I have done it - so theres experience and ideas - you just need the bits and someone who can weld (and someone who can grind - bugger me, I remember the grinding ) Cost wise I think it would be in the vicinity of $1500 I have spent, and quite a few hours of engineering time. Someone mentioned a company who I won't mention, since they are technically competitors, who reckoned about $3k to do the swap - which is about right I think if you dropped it off and picked it up done. Leafs, I went Hilux rears in the front and spring over new 50mm lifted Holden Rodeo springs in the back, and steering very similar to Yarnos flipped arm setup although that seems to limit steering a bit as the pitman arm is much shorter than the hilux one - I'm having a special shorty arm machined up to fix that. Anyway, just some thoughts and ideas - no need to go selling the MU and buying a Hilux... just bring the Hilux bits to the MU Steve

Just fitted CV no 4 which was a recycled original from Rob at Jackeroo world. Cost $160 with freight from Melbourne and was a spot on fit and very good nick too! Rob supplied me both shafts with the outer CV so fitting was a lot easier, just popped the circlip on the inner CV, slid the whole lot out. Swapped over the inner joint and boots to the new unit and greased her up and fitted it back together. I'll give this one a test and see how it goes. J

Just spoke with the 4x4 wrecker who had earlier told me mu cv's lighter than bighorn ones. Asked if he knew if bighorn front end (including cv's) could bolt onto mu and he says no - not without significant surgery and certification. So this is not an option. Mike

Apparantly the diff housing bit is narrower on the bighorns, sounds like a challange to me!!

Interesting. I looked in a parts book at Supercheap and they had the same part number for Mu and early bighorn

Yeah, i thought that too, might just be on the later models the diff is narrower, had a look at an axle out of a early bighorn and it looked the same size as the ones in my mu to me.

The bloke may have meant the later bighorn. Be well worth while measuring the earlier bighorn to check compatibility because you can sometimes pick up a bighorn axle complete for very little. If the diff ratio matches the mu, you might be in business.Mike
