Just curious as to how high everyones Mu's are sitting so if you could measure your Mu from the top of the wheel arch to the ground, front and rear, and also tell us what size body lift and tyres you have I'd be most gratefull.
My Mu sits front 900mm, rear 915mm with a 23mm bodylift and the tyres are 31's

Mine sits 950mm at the rear and 980mm at the front. Mods include a 2" Body lift, rear springs reset and front torsion bars lifted ( obviously too much ) and front ball joint flipped ;D ;D on 31" wheels Hopefully soon add rear shackles and 33" wheels to get that figure over a metre

at the moment the back of my MU is siting at 950mm with 33's and 3" body lift....... but when its finished it should be around 1100mm with the spring over on the back and solid under the front....
Edit: make that 1200mm...

Like that one Andrew, anyway we're 915mm front, 925mm rear, had an extra left put in and the whole lot re-set and torsion bars done. New 265/75 Cooper ST's and now have 247mm under the rear diff, Dobinsons shocks all round. This suspension is tested out towing our camper trailer which weights at least 1 tonne. Bruce.

G'day all,
So far my my Mu is 950mm rear and 950mm front. mods include new leafs and new torsion bars done by pedders, its lifted the truck about 2 inch to fit the 33 inch BF muddies, still cant at the moment afford the 3 inch body lift, its tax time though so lets see what i get from the tax man!! ;D

standard mu, just newish shocks on back. Do you think it's sagged at the back or would that be normal??
Graham.

My rear end would have been about 850mm before lift and she would bottom out on just about anything. Cheers Bruce.

I know its not a mu but this morning my bighorn was 845 and 860 at the back, and 845 and 855 at the front. Fitted new lovels springs to the rear and got 908 each side The front got wound to 870 each side before my arms said no more Will go for 900 on the weekend. Old original springs were 15kg with 3 leaves + overload. New ones 5 leaves +overload and weigh 22kg. Hardest part was lineing up the locator pin in the diff. Standard shocks still have aprox 5mm travel past the end of the spring.

Instaed of lifting it by hand, why not use a ratchet gun?

I thought that too when I did my first t-bar crank, but the ratchet gun makes it difficult to keep track of the number of turns on each side and keep everything even.
Jim
P.S. 940 mm in front and 940 mm in the rear

To crank up the torsion bars it's easier if you jack the front end up and lift the wheels off the ground.
