There seem to be 3 Mus in my area whose shocks have either collapsed or they been lowered ... not contagious is it ? It's looks an ugly disease!

There's one down here as well. Can't publish my thoughts on it though as I know the guy that owns it. I just shake my head whenever I see it.

The usa version of the Mu comes in 2wd I belive it sits lower and on smaller wheels in a similar way to the 2wd hilux. The hilux I can understand as there is a need for a ute that doesnt need 4wd but the Mu doesnt make sence. I know a person in Wellington that lowered a Mu although 5 weeks later it was lifted by the same amount above standard as it was below. At the end of the day each to there own but why bother with a Mu. If you want a sports car start with somthing that will benifit from lowering. The Mu will always be a heavy cruiser as its designed for strenght not agility. It may however be just terminal sag and not deliberate

The shocks won't have colapsed as they don't affect height unless they are air shocks which would raise the vechile.
It is very easy to lower a mu so if the person driving looks like a boy racer then chances are its been lowerd I bent my springs which made the arse sagg real bad but was still around standard height, would be suprising for the springs to go any lower than an inch below standard because of the overload springs

just fitting low profile tyres would give 3 to 5 inches imagine your 15 or 16 inch mags with 255/30 tyres. Big improvment in acceleration to. There was a bighorn in Wellington a while ago that had been lowered this way. Whole thing was rough as guts. Still a truck in sport car clothing I wouldnt admit to driveing it. I would avert my eyes if I saw one

As for that increased acceleration, I'm not so sure. You'd be spending more than half the time changing gears and hitting max rpm in top gear at 80 kph or something silly

Looks nice USA amigos had a 2wd option but I cant tell if this 2 or 4wd but can you imagine this up to the handles in mud or going along an overgrown track. There was a cruiser on that site a few months ago that had a similar amount of money spent on the outside They were wanting oveer 100000 for a fj40

I saw a new Pajero with 20" polished chrome wheels and ridiculously low profile rubber, I think it was 30 or 35 series hoops if I remember right. Bling style> Didn't look bad

I was around at at mates place today. he's an engine reco/builder and he had a MU ute in the shop. this thing was low as they come, 20" wheels, big front bumper. The amazing thing though was the engine had some serious money thrown at it. 2.6ltr turbo, forged pistons, shot peened bottom end, ported polished head. This thing was a monster I'm talking 270-300kw at the wheels on the dyno. (rear wheels).Pity though it will never see a mud bog worthy of all that power!!!!!!!!!

Thats just a body on the deck with wheels poked underneath (I hope) The chassis would be on the ground I dont know what happens to the things lower than the chassis ie gearbox guard. They are also 5 stud wheels This pic wasnt meant to be published early April was it?
