Saw a series 1 Bighorn with a snorkel on Easter Monday on our way back from Wellington but the wife was driving and wouldn't turn round and chase him so I could have a good look.Is there an off the shelf snorkel for the earlier Bighorns?

If the bighorn was blue it was probably me. Mine is a series 2 disco snorckle from airflow but I belive there are snorkles that fit dependi ng on wether or not you have flares. Fitting is not for the faint hearted as the fuse box and power steering resivour have to be moved and a new inlet has to be made to the aircleaner and the old inlet has to be sealed. I belive Roy and Debbie at www.seatcoverwarehouse.co.nz have more info on this. Alan

Just rang a place in Rockhampton, Central Queensland, called Total 4x4 and the cost of a snorkel (Airflow) fitted is $370, so their price I beleive is cheaper than the mob in Adelaide, hope to order one tomorrow. Cheers Bruce

Hi all, have just ordered my snorkel and have a question. Where the hose comes away from the snorkel my MU has all that EGR piping junk, so Iam wandering if it gets in the road? I have disconnected the hoses going to the EGR valves a long time ago so I would also like to know if I can take this part away if necessary. All help appreciated. Cheers Bruce

Bruce, The EGR's are not going to be a problem if you leave them in place, the flexable pipe hugs the inner guard down to the air box.

These are now avalible in NZ.
I will need to know how many people want a unit so I can obtain a better price.
Please, no hhuuumm'ing or arrhh'ing I hope to keep the price around the $300 mark so the more the better as we can get a better price.
Please email me (info@clubisuzu.com) if your keen.
This is open to members in AU as well, not sure what the converstion rate does to the price in realtion to a locally purchsed unit but if its cheaper this way let me know.
