thanks dani4jb1t for the help, can have now managed to upload the pics, this ia a read view of the engine, top right is the supercharger, below it is the alternator, and the turbo, there is no oil filter outlet there any more i just put a plate there so the oil goes direct in to the engine, oil filter located else where this is the frontal view top left, supercharger ,bottom alternator, bottom right a/c compresssor with new bracket, top left power steering bracket(just finished today will post pics tomorrow) ,middle bottom in blue is the supercharger pulley 1.5:1 ratio crankshaft/supercharger(just finished today will post pics tomorrow) inlet side of engine, yet to fab inlet manifold

Is that the same supercharger as fitted to Toyota's (MR2 etc)?

hahaha you've got sharp eyes, yes it is,its just sitting there waiting for an engine overhaul,(sister in law gunned it up in the jungle as a support group for an aventure race my wife was in and came back with only 3 cyclinders working),apparently used engines are scares now in japan, news has it that a guy in dubai in just buying up these diesel engines so i have to wait a little while to get an engine,i waiting for a pick up n/a 4jb1t engine because the parts are lighter, like the crank shaft is about 8kgs lighter, the conrods are lighter too...i forgot to mention that the brakes of my rodeo have been changed ,i am using alu 4 pot calipers from a mits 3000 gt, with 11 1/2 " disc with a alu top hat, but these are going soon, made friends with this guy who supplies disc rotors to nascar etc, he's an inventor and design this metal called MOLYCARBIDE and he makes rotors out of this metal and the rotors are super light, wall thickness is only 4mm as compared to oem 8mm,and they are 14" dia. i'll be getting them some where in july, problem now is i need to get some 16",17" rims coz my 15" willl not fit. img124.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pictureconrad0036lg.jpg] my brakes img72.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pictureconrad0060xf.jpg] rear independant suspension for my rear rodeo, still some time away

notice the picture with the rodeo in the back ground, look at the bottom of the pics and you can see 2 aluminium donut, these are good for doing elbows for intercooler piping,i manufacture them.

"i waiting for a pick up n/a 4jb1t engine because the parts are lighter, like the crank shaft is about 8kgs lighter, the conrods are lighter too..."
Don't use the normally asperated pistons with a turbo, your compression ratio will be way to high.

yes your right the n/a engine has less volume on the piston dish,i am not using their piston just their components, and thanks that you have mentioned it or some might make a blunder.

Would using the lighter (And one would assume weaker) components actually be worth it at all?

it is difficult to say that its weaker beacuse the dimention of the crank are the same, the only difference is that there is less counter balancer on the crank(6 instead of 8)they have lots of people running around here on 30psi using this crank with no problems,(i am not saying you can run around on 30psi)there is a friend(big horn 4jg2) had his whole crank drive lighten(flywheel, crankshaft) and balanced running 25ibs and it runs like hell and smooth, its very impressive,i really love these isuzu engines.these engines are capable of alot of power,

Do you have any more info on their setups?
I am particularly keen on what turbos they are running and their intercooler setups.

i use my rodeo for street use but i do occationally go offroading. on answering jimmu, subaru wrx turbo seems to work well, intercooler setup,it has to front mounted ,its the most efficient, althought i have installed a top mounted charge cooler with a riadiator mounted to the front and the water resevoir cooled by the a/c.this can be swithch on and off, circulating water pump switches on at 10 psi via pressure switch at the inlet manfild.works well too.

Hi Conrad, getting a bit off topic here but could you please tell me what your independent rear end comes out of, Isuzus are not the only thing I tinker with ;D Many thanks, Steve.
