nice..... youve paid a lot of attention to detail from the very start seems like nothings been overlooked. is there much more to be done before its final assembly? will be interesting to know its dry weight as apposed to a standard one after all the skimming u've done on each component just hope for your sake the integrity of the engine is'nt compromised when you unleash the devastating fury of all its ponnies. cheers muvit

the crankshaft needs to be balanced,i need to build a sturdy box to transport it kuala lumpur, that will take a few weeks, then there is assembly, which i have no idea how long it will take, the fuel pump is being fitted with a 12mm rotor head for extra fueling,i guess that about it,then there is the break in period,i think we're looking at about 3-4 months time at the earliest.

Hi patience my friend it wont be too much longer & you'll be reaping the benefits from your project. As i will be with mine eventually too anyway i'll just keep looking & waiting for any updates besides you did mention 3-4 months at the earliest & its only been 2. regards muvit

here are some pics,me working late nights stripping the engine bay for some cosmetic touch ups the engine bay doesn't look too good,so this has to be done before the engine goes in. here are the pics of the balanced flywheel and the clutch cover as well as the s/c pulley(note the markings).

yahooo!!!!,just got the cooper gasket material, cost me rm800.00 plus delivery.now i just have to make the gasket.the copper seems a bit hard though,do you think i need to aneal it???has anyone done this before?

cut a bit of copper to make the gasket and found out its too hard to be a gasket,so a friend of mine told me to aneal it,and it works, after putting a burner to the copper and heating it for some time,i left it to cool slowly and the colour charges to bright copper to a more dull red copper, the darker the red the softer i find it,

To anneal copper heat it and dunk it in cold water.Opposite for steel. Regards,Harry.

can I ask a silly question Why are you makeing your own gaskets and which ones? I would of thought all the gaskets were easy to get off the shelf

you never ask silly q's geeves, the block was skimmed due to deep marking on the gasket surface,so i measured piston protusion, and it was 1mm,thickest gasket they have was 1.8mm,so piston to head clearence was too close.

But, wouldn't the +.8mm increase the compression and give more power?
Annealing copper is a great way of re-using sump plug washers - just get red and leave 30 seconds to cool.

sorry - forgot to say - that's some fantastic machining there. Looks like your going to have a beast of an engine...
